HDMI output on Xbox360 Premium.

In an unannounced move, Microsoft have upgraded their Xbox360 Premium package (US$350 - RM1200) with HDMI output. This HD 1080P enabled output was previously exclusive to the highed prices Elite package, as well as the recently announced Halo3 package (US$399 - RM1375) only.

This was confirmed by Microsoft official statement: "Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners' games and entertainment experience. Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand."

All HDMI Xbox360 Premium external box packaging will have a HDMI logo to differentiate it against the older non-HDMI sets. So do keep an eye out for the logo to get the spanking new addition to the Xbox360 Premium, especially if you dont want to get the older configuration models.

There is no feedback from Microsoft if this new HDMI Xbox360 also has the new cooler 65nm chip, as its been suspected that the current 90nm chips gives out more heat that "kills" the Xbox360.

Will we see the HDMI enabled Xbox360s here in MY? I would like to think so, but I wont hold my breath waiting for it to surface so soon.
